Music Reflection #21

Today Mr. Sadrakh told us the scores for the Journal and Blog. And for the ones who didn't do the assessment yesterday or did bad at it, he/she must do a redo. And also we have to bring a screenshot of our blog and the fotocopied page of our Reflection Journal.

Music Reflection #20

Today is the Solo Playing Instrument - Baroque Music assessment. And I was the one who go first. I was hoping for someone else but there's no going back. I was nervous and I could feel my hands are shaking when I play the song with my violin. It turn out good. Others did excellent, some need to take a redo for tomorrow's lesson.

Mr. Sadrakh was absent due to illness so the substitute was Mr. John, the guitar teacher. He was reminding us on the basic notes, the majors for A to G. Well, most of us forget the majors like A major, F major and G major. Mr. John says it helps us to "refresh" our minds so we could remember but I don't think we could.

We were still doing the practice for the assessment 2 weeks from now. I was the one who perform and it was not easy hitting the right notes of the song. Playing the violin was hard enough because you need to play the precise notes so there won't be any problems.

May 10th 2012

Mr. Sadrakh told us to practice on the assessment task at hand (Solo Playing - Western Song). Some of us did practice, some haven't. After they "perform", Mr. Sadrakh ask them questions on the criteria. If they answer it correct, they get a bonus score for the Written Test. It could be a difficult task for the Woodwind students because perform, they are having a hard time to blow the saxophone or flute.

Music Reflection #16

Mr. Sadrakh told us to submit our quiz or test/homework. Some haven't finished it, some have. The students who didn't finish it must able to complete it during class. We don't have much time to finish it because we had Instruments class afterwards.

Music Reflection #15

Today Mr. Sadrakh told us to do some sort of quiz or test that is about a famous composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. I wasn't able to attend Music class because I need to do a performance with Singers Club for the Grade 9 - 11 assembly at 7:45. As I walk in the class, I have to finish off the quiz or test. But Mr. Sadrakh told us to finish it at home and submit it tomorrow. I have done finishing it.

Music Reflection #14

27th April 2012

It was the day for the Written Test. Unfortunately, It was said in the assessment schedule that it says Written Essay, not Written Test. So I started panicking but Mr. Sadrakh gave us 10 minutes to review our booklet. As I started the test, I know some answers for some questions but really stuck on the questions about musical forms. I'm not expecting a good score after this either.

Mr. Sadrakh told some of the students in class to take a redo if they want. They all want a redo or most of them haven't performed yet. They did well but some needed improvement on their singing, nervousness, and confidence in singing.

Today is the solo singing assessment and I have to say I remembered all the lyrics which is thank God. When it was my turn, I was a bit nervous but I hope I improved that. Before m turn, everyone else did a great job. Mr. Sadrakh told us that we could do a redo for the ones that didn't have much confidence in singing so lucky ones are lucky.

Mr. Sadrakh told us to practice the Western song assessment. We end up in random pairs rather than being alone. As I sang in front of the class, thankfully I remembered the lyrics. I hope iI could keep it up until Thursday this week.

April 12th 2012

We have gotten our new new schedule and assessments. This week, we have to do the solo singing assessment which we have to sing a Western song (Italian). I must practice at home for preparing the assignment so that I will remember the lyrics and be too nervous (hopefully). And my blogspot score is 7/8. Also Mr. Sadrakh asks us to sing/practice the song we're going to sing this week.

Music Reflection #9

Mr. Sadrakh told us the one to perform our compositions as a redo from last week. Everyone did good, but I somehow got nervous and messed up my compositions. Now my score is 7.5/10, which is good. The highest are Ardian, Edho, Jason, etc.

Music Reflection #8

Mr. Sadrakh want us to perform our own composition in front of class with our instruments. Mostly the number of students who did perform their composition is Piano and the rest of us haven't memorized it. I don't quite understand about the notes of my group composition because their mostly high notes. I'm using Violin as my instruments and i haven't learn anything about playing higher notes. BUT I decided to play my own composition.

Today we were reviewing our Finale melody scores that was informed last week. The ones who get the maximum score (10 out of 10) must go in front of the class and explain the process on how do they do it, and the ones who get low score was asked why did he/she get that score.

March 9th 2012,

Mr. Sadrakh finally told us the scores for the booklet (it's out of 8). I got 7 out of 8, which I'm very happy for it. Everyone did get good scores. Then we were told to practice our movement, some used with our compositions from their group. My group didn't because we're running out of time. I think perform some dance moves is actually better than singing in front of people.

March 8th 2012,

Mr. Sadrakh asked us if we update our blogspot yet. Most of us did, some haven't. Then he announce our scores for the Finale melody. Everyone got good scores, some got higher ones. Mine's an average score (7/10), but I'm satisfied with my score. The best in my group is Jason and I've got to say, his melody is pretty swell. He was about to tell us the scores for booklet, but changed it to Friday.

Today Mr. Sadrakh's reviewing our compositions and testing them. Mostly everyone did very well, but the best was chosen by Mr. Sadrakh's (best one from kenneth, athamam, and verena calista).

Today we were reviewing all of the assessments we've done for the past few weeks. Mostly, most of us did the blogspot assessment but still some didn't update their blog or haven't sent the link to Mr. Sadrakh's email.

Music Reflection #2

Today we were submitting the booklet and printed 32 bars Finale melody. Some of us did submit, some didn't but said that they were gonna submit tomorrow. Mr. Sadrakh asks us if we did make and updated our blog. Well, some of us (including me) did that, some haven't. They said they haven't send the link to their blogs yet, but who knows? Maybe they will today.

Doing the Baroque Composers assessment

I'm still doing the Baroque composers assessment for Music. I was able to redo it cause my last draft was 100 % copy-paste! So to my shame, i make another one using my own words. *Sigh*, this is gonna take a while to finish before Thursday...

Music Reflection #1

February 17th 2012,

Today, Mr. Sadrakh asks each of us if we did our melody in Finale software. The ones who didn't work yet, the Captain and Vice Captain (Kenneth and Nadia) must right their names and help them make the melody. Most of us didn't do the 'Make a Reflection Blog' asessment, but I'm doing this reflection now!
